Looks like a great contest...
My computer is having trouble interpreting Greek letters though. (It represents some of them as "boxes")...
What is the symbol that comes after "BO + " in the final equation?...

It's a radical. As in "take the square root of what follows".

Hehe, I was doing that, too, before I saw the answer. I didn't have time to work on the contest, but I decided to plug in the answers just to see if I could do that much. Came close, but I also will try again later.
