N is tricky, all right. You may want to solve the other clues before attempting this one. One of them might give you a hint as to its value.

I was being sneaky here. In the intro I mentioned that Roman letters do not stay constant in separate clues, but Greek letters do. The only way you could figure out "N" was if you realized it is only a capital nu (it is at the beginning of the sentence, after all).

The group is the Baker Street Irregulars, who were last featured in The Sign of Four. There are no units, so the units are assumed to be radians. The sine of 4 radians is closest to -1. Answer: 0.
