Nelly's rags to riches story set to music documents the importance of friends over those who are merely looking for a payday. In many ways, this is merely conventional self-aggrandisment and mythologizing, but in other ways it speaks to a larger concern about the value of fame and a soul. Of course, kicking beats and the ready-made "hey"s (pefrect for throwing your hands in the air! Also, good for waving them like you just don't care) punctutate the story without it becoming too bogged down the weight of ego. This one fell quite a bit from ten years ago probably pop changed in a different way than this foretold, but it is still a strong track.
Coming up: #95 - "I gotta get my body moving shake the stress away"
Don't hate it--just wouldn't put it in a top 100.

I, on the other hand, do hate it. Very much.
