It keeps getting later and later into the rock era and Perry still holds strong outlasting (at least on the front end) Frank Sinatra, Eddie Fisher and many more. “Round and Round” is the kind of song you have to like. There’s maybe two or three verses and oddly compelling sort of bridge. The lyrics are about the circle of relationship set against the circle of a circle. And this song’s crescendo is all production effect that totally pays off in the end. Dig this one up and put it on; Perry got one last number one for a reason.
He sure did. And I'm hoping that right now that commercial for Perry Como's best is playing in Merle's living room and she's singing right along.
