A. We start with number 17. It says that 15 and 25 are in adjacent spaces and that there are no square numbers (1, 4, 9, 16 and 25) in row 2. Since 25 must be one of Baby Got Back, Don't Be Cruel or Every Breath You Take, but cannot be Don't Be Cruel or Every Breath You Take, therefore Baby Got Back, must be 25.
B. From Baby Got Back we learn that the other multiples of 5 (5,10, 15, and 20) are both Elvis songs (Don't Be Cruel, Hound Dog), a 00s song (Crazy in Love, Gold Digger, Hey Ya, Lose Yourself, or SexyBack) and Stayin' Alive. Since 15 must be next to American Pie, Don't Be Cruel must be 15.
C. From Don't Be Cruel, we learn that the multiples of 9 (9 & 18) are in the first column. We also learn that 17 is equal to sum of I Get Around and Lose Yourself. Since 18 is larger than 17, it cannot be in I Get Around or Lose Yourself's space, so The Sound of Silence must be 18. We also know from this that other two must be 8 and 9 (since one must be 9 and they have to add to 17), but we do not know the order.
D. The Sound of Silence tells us that the other corners (That'll Be The Day, American Pie and December 1963) add to 46 and that the 50s #1 hits in other columns (That'll Be The Day and Hound Dog) must be prime (2, 3, 5, 7, 11, 13, 17, 19, 23). Since Hound Dog is prime AND a multiple of 5 (see B), it must be 5.
E. Hound Dog gives probably the most important clue of the game. All square numbers (see A) are immediately above boxes that are top ten hits. We know can add to the fact that they are not in row 2 that they are not in row 5. We also know that Sweet Dreams must not be in the top ten. (11 or more). Furthermore, we know that 9 cannot be above 17, which resolves both of the numbers we had left in the first column (see C). I Get Around must be 9 and Lose Yourself is 8.
F. Lose Yourself tells us that the other multiples of 8 (16 and 24) are next to each other. That doesn't help much now, but may later.
