Like I've said, thanks for this. One remarkable thing I discovered was the number of classic songs that never made #1 (God Only Knows, Stairway, Layla, Sympathy for the Devil, Born to Run, London Calling etc.) largely due to the early a.m./f.m divide.

What I think you missed: Mack the Knife, Help!(no brainer), Runaround Sue, Groovin', The Letter, Crimson & Clover, American Woman, Another Brick in the Wall, Brandy(huge oldies radio staple), Monday Monday, Light My Fire, Jump!, Livin' on a Prayer.

To make room I'd drop Cathy's Clown, Sixteen Tons, Hey Baby, Alone Again(Naturally)(over the top maudlin), Sledgehammer, Tik Tok, Love the Way You Lie, I'm Too Sexy(A gimmic record), Fantasy, Angel, I Swear, Run It!, and So What?

42 songs newer than 2000? This is hardly balanced. It is, however, fun and interesting. I've really enjoyed this. Thanks.
